Markdown Table Generator
Build GitHub-Flavored Markdown tables from an editable grid — add or remove rows and columns, fill in cells, then copy the generated Markdown instantly. All in your browser, no upload.
About the Markdown Table Generator
This Markdown table generator runs entirely in your browser. Edit the grid cells directly, add or remove rows and columns as needed, then click Generate Markdown to produce GitHub-Flavored Markdown (GFM) table syntax. Nothing is uploaded — all processing happens locally with JavaScript.
How to use
- Click any cell in the grid and type your content. The first row is the header row.
- Use + Add row and + Add column to expand the table, or the remove buttons to shrink it.
- Click Generate Markdown to produce the table syntax in the output box.
- Click Copy to copy the Markdown to your clipboard.
What is a GFM Markdown table?
GitHub-Flavored Markdown extends standard Markdown with a simple pipe-based table syntax. Each row is written on its own line with cells separated by | characters. The second line is a separator row using dashes (---) to distinguish the header from the body. This generator produces clean, properly escaped Markdown that renders correctly on GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and most Markdown renderers.
Frequently asked questions
Can I include pipe characters inside cells? Yes. The generator automatically escapes literal pipes with a backslash (\|) so they don't break the table structure.
Does the tool support cell alignment? This generator produces standard left-aligned tables. For more advanced alignment options, you can manually adjust the separator row (:---, :---:, ---:) in the output.
Is my data uploaded anywhere? No. Everything happens locally in your browser. No data leaves your device.
